How to Organize App Store Applications into Folders? (iPhone and iPod Touch)
Posted by Todd Kirkland on September 21, 2008If you dislike having your springboard cluttered with applications, you can use this application to organize them into fully customizable folders. In order to follow this tutorial, you will need a jailbroken iPhone or iPod Touch that has 2.0+ firmware.
1. Launch Cydia from your Springboard
2. Go to the Section tab on the bottom of the screen
3. Select the System category
4. From here press on Categories
5. Press on Install and then Confirm
6. Once completed press “Return to Cydia”
7. Press the Home button to return to your springboard
8. Find the Categories application on your springboard and press to launch
9. Once launched, read the warning that popups then press the large OK button.
10. Press on Add button the top right-hand corner and give a name to the new category
11. Select an icon that fits your category
12. Select on your newly formed category to edit it
13. Press on Add on the top right-hand corner to bring up a list of apps to add
14. Once you finished adding all the apps you want, press Done on the top right-hand corner
15. From here, you can remove, organize, or add more apps.
16. Press the Done button at the top left-hand cornerto return to the Categories List. You will see your newly created folder
17. Press the Home button to go back to the springboard
18. Find your newly created folder on your springboard and launch it.
19. You will see all your icons that you hid within the folder here
20. To customize your folder options, press on the “i” button on the lower right-hand corner.
Once you press Done, you will now have a fully customized folder on your springboard.
